Riot has been showing off some of the gameplay changes that will come to League of Legends in the Hecarim patch next week.
The video covers changes to Teemo, Kayle, runes and experience gain. Your champion will now gain higher experience for defeating a champion with a higher level than yours, to try and increase the chance of comebacks during matches.
A separate post on the League of Legends website discusses more of the changes we can expect to see in the next patch. Combat text will now be colour-coded: you’ll see red numbers for physical damage, purple for magic damage and true damage will be shown using white numbers. The UI and bot AI will also be improved.
Hecarim, the Shadow of War, also got a reveal this week.
The change to experience gain is particularly interesting. Do you think it will have the intended impact on gameplay?
