The PlayStation 3 exclusive series Twisted Metal may be making its way to the big screen soon. Six games and a movie!
Deadline reports Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance co-director Brian Taylor has agreed to a preemptive deal with Sony Pictures to write and direct a live action adaptation of the game franchise. Ghost Rider’s Avi and Ari Arad are set to produce the film.
The report says the film will stick close to the game’s storyline, with contestants battling it out in a tournament run by Calypso to have any wish granted.
Reportedly, the adaptation will include signature characters Sweet Tooth and Doll Face, so far.
A SCEA spokesperson told Game Informer the company has been in discussions with Sony Pictures Entertainment about a movie based on the Twisted Metal franchise, but would not share additional details.
The latest game in the Twisted Metal series launched yesterday for the PlayStation 3.
