A tear-down of the PlayStation Vita has revealed the components of the device add up to an estimated value of $160.
The estimated prices for individual components of the device by tech experts at UBM Tech Insights are:
For the $250 WiFi only model, Sony looks to make about $90 on each device sold. This estimation does not take into account the cost of developing or marketing the device or selling it wholesale to retailers, however.
In comparison, the 3DS has roughly $100 worth of raw materials in the device and sells for $170 after a price drop from the original $250.
The PlayStation Vita is set to launch in western markets February 22.
