Sony, Microsoft reveal PlayStation 4, Xbox One titles playable at SDCC

by Anna Roberts

Are you attending San Diego Comic-Con? Want to get your hands on some next-gen console titles? Sony and Microsoft have announced the games that will be playable by attendees at this year’s SDCC.

On the PlayStation blog, Sony announced the line-up of playable titles for this year’s Comic-Con. The list includes PlayStation 4 games Driveclub, Japan Studio’s Knack and Kickstarter funded Octodad: Dadliest Catch.

In addition, Sony will have PlayStation 3 and Vita games available to play, including Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6 and, from the makers of LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway.

Sony’s announcement follows a post on Major Nelson’s blog that reveals some of the Comic-Con Xbox One line-up. Ryse: Son of Rome, Killer Instinct and Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 all feature, with the full roster not yet announced.

Xbox related panels are also running throughout the event. For details of the timing and locations of these panels, check out the full schedule.

This will be the first chance for members of the public to try out Xbox One and PlayStation 4 games. Whilst many of the new console games were available to play at E3 last month, it was only open to industry and the press.

Hypable will be going to Comic-Con San Diego 2015 and playing the PS4 and Xbox One for the first time. We’ll make sure to give you our impressions as soon as we’ve played with these next-gen consoles.

We expect they will both feel much of the same as their predecessors, in that there is only so far technology can take a system. For example, the graphics in games such as Uncharted 3 and Halo 4 seem hard to beat.

However, maybe we’ll be surprised. Playing games in person is always different than watching videos online!

Overall, we’re most excited to play some Watch_Dogs and Beyond: Two Souls.

What games are you excited to read about from Comic-Con 2015?
